Latinx therapists in Canada

Collectivism and family orientation are two very important things in the Latinx comunidad. Unfortunately because of this prioritization of the group over the self. Many Latinx individuals find it stigmatizing to need or seek out mental health support.

✅Only 20% of Latinx individuals with a mental disorder talk about it with their doctors.

✅Only 10% pursue treatment with a mental health provider.

Something we don’t often talk about in regards to therapy and taking care of ones mental health is how inaccessible these services can be!
One of the reasons why many Latinx Canadians don’t go to therapy is because of how hard it is to find a therapist that speaks their native language or understands their cultural perspective.

To help out our amigues, we’ve put together a short list of therapists in:
✨Ontario
✨Alberta
✨British Columbia
Who speak English, Spanish and Portuguese!

Helping our comunidad access the support they need is one of the many ways we can break the stigma surrounding mental health.
