About the Artists
-
Luisé Cisneros (ze/hir) is a non-binary Mexican-Canadian artist who explores his identity as an immigrant with a mixed-race heritage, the ideas of land, and family dynamics within the relation to Mexican diaspora living in Toronto. Hir’s intention in practice is to both criticize the barriers, discrimination, and violence faced by those who share my BIPOC, diaspora, and LGBTQ+ identities and to celebrate their experiences, traditions, and self-worth as diverse peoples.
-
Carla Sierra Suárez (she/her) is a Mexican multidisciplinary artist based in Tkaronto. In her practice, she explore themes of identity and aims to bring light to issues that have often been stigmatized. Her work focuses on her personal identities as Mentally ill, Neurodivergent, Disabled, Latina, and Muslim and her passion is to bring people together through art. She refers to herself as a visual storyteller considering the autobiographical nature of all her work.
